The South East Coast and London Paediatric Diabetes Network Parents Group is for families whose children attend hospitals in North West London. This group is for parents and carers only.

Support groups from Diabetes UK

Diabetes UK runs specialist groups for parents, children and young people with type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes on a range of issues. These are shown on the Diabetes UK website.

The charity also runs a number of online forums on topics including diabetes in school, how to use an insulin pump, and parenting.

You don’t need to register to read posts, but you will need to if you want to chat online. You can search for support groups in your area on the charity’s website.

Meet up with parents, carers and families

The research charity Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) runs events for people with type 1 diabetes and their carers and families.

The charity’s ‘Type 1 diabetes discovery days’ are free and a great chance  to meet other people with type 1 diabetes.

The events also cover news on the charity’s latest research progress and there are talks from a range of speakers too.
